DeBoer, 54, was meeting a friend to carpool to work at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. At around 7 a.m. she texted her friend that she forgot her work badge and asked her friend to go on without her. Her friend said she would wait and asked how long. DeBoer said she would be 10 minutes late, but never showed up.
