Edmonds Elementary will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. at the school.

Organizers are looking for people who were students in the late ’60s and early ’70s. At that time the school was called Olympic Elementary. They would like to interview former students for a slide show and send them a special invitation to the event.

If you attended the school during that time and are interested in being interviewed, please contact Shari Storm at sharistorm@gmail.com.

  1. After attending 2nd grade at what is currently the Frances Anderson Center we made the big move to the “New” Olympic Elementary as a 3rd grader. It was awesome!

  2. Indeed we did Dave. It was a shorter walk to school for me to Olympic. My folks still live in the same house too. I was a Patrol boy, an AV boy, was a milk boy, and got my start in band at Olympic. I remember the janitor scaring dogs off the playground with a one gallon metal can with rocks in it. That was a while ago.

  3. I was in the first K-6 class at Olympic as well. It was only a short walk from my house. That first year, my mom walked me to the end of our street for the first couple weeks and I’d navigate the path to school alone; i felt like such a grown up girl. Anyone else having a hard time believing it’s been 50 years?
