Dementia education event set for Tuesday, Oct. 4

51-ieazdowl-_sx331_bo1204203200_Cedar Creek Memory Care Community is presenting a dementia education event and free dinner featuring Lon Cole, author of “Alive & Thankful — Life is a Gift” on Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 5-7 p.m.

According to the event sponsor: “Those with Alzheimer’s or other related dementias and all caregivers will be uplifted by Lon’s poems. He love to make people laugh, lift their spirits, and make them think about what matters most. Most of all, he wants people to be alive and thankful for the privileges God has given him.”

The event will be at My Sister’s Place, 8304 212th St. S.W., just east of the Five Corners roundabout in Edmonds

Seating is limited. RSVP to Sylvana Rinehart at cedarcreekdcr@koelschsenior.com or call 425-301-6425.

  1. I have heard Lon Cole speak about his personal experience with early-onset Alzheimer’s. He is truly an inspirational speaker, who gives us hope. Those with family members who have Alzheimer’s or another type of dementia would certainly enjoy his presentation, dinner, and gift of a free book of Lon’s poetry.

I was the first speaker for Cedar Creek Memory Care’s series “Grab a Plate and Educate.” The program is an opportunity to talk with others about their experiences and to learn more about Alzheimer’s and what family members can do. I would highly recommend Lon’s talk.
