Scene in Edmonds: Local Olympian helps celebrate new school year at Holy Rosary

Students and staff at Holy Rosary School in Edmonds got a big surprise Friday when Shalom Suniula of the US Men's Olympic Rugby Team stopped by to help them celebrate the new school year at the school's Opening Ceremony event. Shalom lives in the Seattle area and coaches rugby to kids in this region and throughout the world. He recently competed with the University of Washington Men's Rugby Team at the Summer Olympic Games in Rio. He was invited to speak at Holy Rosary by the school's Spanish teacher, Parisa Asgharzadeh, who is also a rugby player and coach. (Photo courtesy of Norbert Hertl)
