I urge voters to support Fire District 1’s Proposition 1 on the general election ballot. It will help the fire district to hire, train and equip more firefighters.
Calls for service have increased more than 12% in 2016. As the chairman of the Fire District 1 Board of Commissioners, I can assure you that more firefighters are needed to keep response times down as call volumes increase.
Fire District 1 innovates with community paramedics, fall prevention programs, and natural disaster preparedness.
Proposition 1 asks voters in the unincorporated area of Fire District 1 to reauthorize the fire levy at the same rate that was approved by voters in 2008: $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value. It is not a new tax.
Please help Fire District 1 to help you, and vote yes on Proposition 1!
