Visitors to Edmonds’ Yost Park should expect frequent trail closures this week as the city’s 2017 sanitary sewer replacement project nears completion. Shoreline Construction Company is placing a layer of crushed rock along the main trail between Maple Street and Shell Valley Road, and there will be frequent closures, the City of Edmonds said in an announcement.
All other trails within the park will remain open, with limited points of access, the city said.
Next week — on Aug. 7 and possibly on Aug. 8 — the contractor will be working on asphalt trench paving at the east end of Maple Street, the west end of Shell Valley Road and the access road between the Yost Park parking lot and the pool. The area of settlement at the Yost Park basketball court will also be regraded and paved.
Vehicle access to the ADA parking stalls at Yost Pool may be rerouted during construction. Directions will be provided at the north end of the Yost Pool parking lot. The city advises that drivers allow an extra five minutes of travel time for the rerouting.
