U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and Holy Rosary School alumnus Tony Edwards returned to his alma mater this week to speak to students during the elementary school’s Catholic Schools Week assembly.

A 1983 graduate of Holy Rosary in Edmonds, Edwards spoke about his careers as both a successful State Farm Insurance agent and as a reservist in the U.S. Air Force.

Edwards is the Commander of the 86th Aerial Port Squadron at Joint Base Lewis-McChord and has served in a variety of positions in his military career. During his service, he has received numerous awards, including two Bronze Stars: the first in 2008 for supporting the Army with logistics in Afghanistan, and the second in 2011 after playing an essential role in successfully transferring control of Kirkuk Regional Air Base to Iraqi control. Edwards told students at the assembly his favorite part of his roles with both State Farm and the Air Force is being able to help people in critical situations.
