Get your strut on – and benefit Edmonds schools

Anyone with children attending public schools in Edmonds knows that budget cuts have hit the school district like a ton of bricks this year. The Public Education Foundation for Children in Edmonds Schools, a nonprofit that has been raising money for more than 20 years to enhance classroom learning, is hosting the Bill Hamilton Memorial 5K Street Strut on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 9 a.m. at the Edmonds Civic Center Track and Playfield, 6th Avenue and Bell Street. Named for a former PEF board member who came up with the idea of fun run fundraiser, this run/walk is stroller and pet friendly, and the route covers some of Edmonds’ most scenic city streets. Sign up at Running in Motion, 401 Main Street in downtown Edmonds. Cost is $25/adult and $10 ages 8-18 if you register by Oct. 5 – and you get a T-shirt. After Oct. 5, the adult fee goes to $35 and you miss out on the shirt. More information: https://www.edmondspef.org/
