According to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner, a man scuba diving near the Edmonds ferry dock in early January died of “near drowning.”

Garth Klein, 50, of Newcastle, was pulled unconscious from the water at Brackett’s Landing Underwater Park on Jan. 3. Fellow divers rescued him near a jetty, 15 feet below surface, after hearing his cries for help. He died two days later.
