The Warrior girls basketball team continued its roll over opponents Friday night, dominating Shorewood with a 57-26 win. The victory ensures that Edmonds-Woodway will earn the Wesco South No. 1 seed in district playoffs, and at least a share of the Wesco South division title, last won by E-W 18 years ago.
Alex Kenney and Angela Wood scored 16 points each, while Ashley Albertson pulled down 14 rebounds for Edmonds-Woodway, which is now 15-1 in league, 17-1 overall, and ranked seventh in the latest 4A girls basketball poll.
Meadowdale’s girls, meanwhile, lost to Jackson (13-3 in league 15-3 overall) by a score of 73-65. Gabi Beyer had a team-high 23 points for the Mavericks, who are now 10-6 (11-7).
On the boys side, the Mavericks, ranked ninth in the 3A state basketball poll, upset Jackson, ranked fourth in the Class 4A, 79-55. Connor Hamlett led the Warriors  with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
Edmonds-Woodway’s boys, meanwhile, suffered a 62-39 defeat at the hands of Shorewood.
