Edmonds-Woodway’s girls basketball team lost its opening playoff game, 51-39, to Auburn Riverside, and now plays at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the tournament’s consolation bracket.
The Lady Warriors started out strong, leading at halftime 24-20, but couldn’t contain a second-half surge by Auburn Riverside, ranked No. 1 in state 4A. Ashley Albertson led E-W with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Edmonds-Woodway will play Federal Way in the Thursday game, and must win their remaining games to play for a 5th or 8th place trophy on Saturday.
