The Everett AquaSox will be recognizing Snohomish County teachers for their hard work and dedication in the classroom and community through the Wells Fargo Home Room Heroes program. Beginning April 15, students can nominate their favorite teachers (current or past) by downloading the application here.
Nominations will consist of an essay format describing how the nominated teacher best achieves “excellence” in the classroom, in the community and how the teacher has positively affected the lives of his/her students. Nominations will be accepted until May 15.”Through our partnerships with local schools both in fundraising and academic programs, we have come across so many teachers who go above and beyond in their classrooms and in the community,” said AquaSox Executive Vice-President Tom Backemeyer. “We are excited to partner with Wells Fargo to recognize some of our local Home Room Heroes who are making a difference every day.”
The selected “Home Room Heroes” will be honored by the AquaSox and Wells Fargo at select baseball games throughout the summer. Winning teachers, and the person who nominated them, will receive tickets to the game and will be recognized in a pre-game on-field presentation.
The program will culminate on Sept. 1, 2010 with Teacher Appreciation Night at the AquaSox. All teachers will be admitted free to that night’s game by presenting their Teacher I.D. at the box office.
The Everett AquaSox, Short-Season Class “A” Affiliate of the Seattle Mariners begin their 2010 home season on June 21 at Everett Memorial Stadium. For more information, visit AquaSox.com or call 425-258-3673.
