While this event doesn’t have an official Edmonds connection, it’s for a cause that many local people support, so we wanted to mention it: Snohomish County Fire District No. 1 employee Chris Tompkins is hosting Bottles for Bandages at Woodinville Wine Cellars tonight. It’s a benefit party for IMAT, an international relief team that is continuing to to assist Haitian residents affected by devastating earthquake there in January.
Starting at 7 p.m., Bottles for Bandages features an evening of fine wine, food and live music, all in support of a great cause. Cost is $40/per person at the door The chef/owner of Italianissimo, Kent Betts, will be cooking up some magic in the cellar while local singer-songwriter TJ Sherrill will be performing live. More information on the event can be found at woodinvillewine.com
IMAT continues to seek interested and available medical professionals who would like to be considered for deployment in Haiti. Since their arrival shortly after January’s earthquake, IMAT team members have cared for thousands of patients throughout Haiti. The span of treatment has ranged from traumatic orthopedic injuries, maternal/newborn and primary health care concerns. Anyone interested can visit imateam.org for more information.
