A pottery-painting fundraiser for a Meadowdale High School softball player battling leukemia since last summer will take place at the Edmonds Glazed & Amazed studio, 514 Main St., from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, May 1.
The event is for Ashley Aven, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and told in January she had only two months to live. The 18-year-old has beat the predictions, and continues to stay active with school and hobbies, including painting pottery at Glazed & Amazed. Our neighbor site Lynnwood Today also has more details about Ashley, a Lynnwood resident, here.
Twenty-five percent of proceeds from Saturday’s event will go to the Ashley K. Aven Foundation, to help the Avens family with household and medical bills. Donations can also be made at any Wells Fargo bank.
