Reminder: City’s Earth Day event tonight

It’s Earth Day, and the city and Sustainable Edmonds are hosting an event tonight at City Hall to celebrate the community’s commitment to environmental initiatives.

The event will be in the third-floor Brackett Room of City Hall, 121 5th Ave. N., from 6 to 8 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and light refreshments will be provided. A representative of Local Governments for Sustainability (iclei.org) will speak on “Local Governments Lead the Way,” followed by a presentation of the City’s Climate Action Plan.

The audience will then participate in group discussions on local action and potential community programs. Those planning to attend should RSVP to the Mayor’s office at 425-771-0247, or by email at carl@ci.edmonds.wa.us.
