The Driftwood Players presents the World Premiere of Northwest playwright Jeff Stilwell’s “Teacup Tipsy,” a heart-warming fable about love, loneliness and the lengths to which we go to live out our dreams, opening this Saturday, April 17 at the Wade James Theatre in Edmonds.
This lyric and moving fable about daring to dream has loveless, luckless and lonely Lyla trying to save her mother’s dream, the most charming wee tea shop, St. Teresa’s Teacup Tipsy, from the dreaded behemoth Starbucks.
“Teacup Tipsy” features a cast of Northwest performers in Catherine Bailey as Lyla, Gary Nelson as Reginald, Wendy Cohen as Mrs. Widdershins and Stilwell as Man In The Box. Stillwell’s wife, Manya Vee, serves as technical designer and also contributed original choreography.
The fable runs a limited engagement of three performances this weekend: Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday and Monday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets ($10) are available at The Driftwood Players Administrative Offices or by calling 425-774-9600. For more information, visit www.driftwoodplayers.com.
