Update on Point Wells development

Diane Kettrick, publisher of Shoreline Area News, provides an update here — from the developer’s perspective — on Point Wells, the former oil plant covering 61 acres of waterfront property south of Edmonds.

For background, last year the Snohomish County Council approved a plan to convert the site from industrial use to mixed-use development. Shoreline residents who live near the site are worried because the development’s only access would be a two-lane road at the northern end of King County, which they believe isn’t adequate for a plan that could accommodate up to 3,500 housing units and  6,000 new residents.
