Edmonds Arts Festival a month away; volunteers needed

The Edmonds Arts Festival is back for its 53rd season Father’s Day weekend, June 18-20, and the organization is recruiting volunteers to help with the annual event.

Since 1957, the Festival has celebrated and promoted the arts with a lively and pleasurable presentation of local and national work, and this year will be no exception. Nearly 250 jury-selected artist exhibitors on the field and plaza are showcased, covering the full span of visual arts. The Festival also includes two juried galleries. One features more than 450 top local and national artists where all the art is for sale. The second gallery features a student art exhibit which unveils the expressions of gifted young artists from kindergarten through twelfth grades.

Enjoy free, live entertainment and a wide variety of fabulous Festival food. For the kids there is a children’s art exhibit, hands-on art activities and performances by musicians, clowns and a juggler–a free, fun, family weekend! (Please note that a city ordinance prohibits dogs on Festival grounds.)

Proceeds from the Festival benefit continuing education in the arts, scholarships, educational grants to schools, community grants to arts and cultural organizations and public art installations. To volunteer, fill out an application at www.edmondsartsfestival.com or email volunteers@edmondsartsfestival.com.

Free shuttle parking is available at the old Woodway High School site, 23200 100th Avenue West.  For a map, directions and a schedule of events, visit www.edmondsartsfestival.com
