Edmonds-Woodway dominates Wesco South girls’ tennis tournament

It was an all-Edmonds-Woodway final in the Wesco South 4A girls tennis doubles championship, as Amanda Waldron and Michelle Nelson defeated teammates Sophie Roben and Sarah Fine 6-2, 7-5 Thursday at Jackson High School. E-W sophomore Jane Hong also made it into the singles final match, but lost to Shorewood High School’s Mackenzie Bang in three sets (6-2, 3-6, 6-3). Both E-W doubles teams and Hong advance to the district tournament at Jackson High School next week, with berths to the state tournament on the line.

In Wesco South 3A, Meadowdale’s Josie Dow won the Wesco 3A girls singles championship by defeating Shorecrest’s Meera Limaye 2-6, 6-4 and 3-1 (default).
