Featured artists for this Thursday’s Art Walk

Visit the Edmonds Art Walk this Thursday, May 20 from 5-8 p.m. Rainbow spinners mark the path, and maps are available at every location. This month’s featured events include live music at the Loft starting at 8 p.m. and a performance by the Edmonds-Woodway quartet at Fabric of Life. Demonstrations include wood mosaics at Edmonds Frame Design and Atelier, mixed media at Fabric of Life, jewelry design at Manya Vee Selects and watercolors at Aria Studio Gallery at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Participating businesses and their featured artists include:

Aria Studio Gallery: New watercolor paintings by Joan E Archer and photography from Leah K Goodwin’s excursions.

Arista Wine Cellars: Susan Rothschild turns wine-themed art into functional items like cutting boards, as well as wall pieces.

Autumn’s Framing and Gallery: Claire Faltesek’s playful and sensitive animal sculptures, drawings, and watercolors bring a menagerie to life.

Beige Blonde: Using metals, natural elements and color, Karen Ulvestad sculpts jewelry inspired by the natural world.

Bellissimo Salon: Linda Solomon’s bold and vivid brushwork.

C’est La Vie: Vashon Island jewelry designer Vicki Hone Smith creates beautiful beaded necklaces out of her beach house studio.

Champions Real Estate: Go to Hawaii, or at least pretend with Quata Cody’s colorful beach and palm tree paintings.

Coldwell Banker Bain: Diane Gunn captures scenes, still-lifes, people and more in her impressionist paintings.

Cole Gallery and Artist Supplies: Soulful watercolors by nationally acclaimed painter Bev Jozwiak.

Edmonds Bookshop: Smaller mixed media pieces by multi-talented beach ranger, bookseller, artist and educator Michelle Bear.

Edmonds Frame Design and Atelier: Intricate wood mosaics, a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Japanese art form by Naoko Morisawa.

Edward Jones – 5th Ave: Larry Pifer’s photos of the Pacific Northwest.

Edward Jones – Main St: Peggy Barnett’s nature photography.

Fabric of Life: Frances Howland’s intricately carved and painted gourds; Wendy Lee Lynds’ contemporary mixed media paintings.

Gallery North: Donna Wallace – Trees of Spirit, plus the May jewelry show.

Garden Gear: Yard art by Kim Groff-Harrington. Made from recycled materials and gains character with age.

Interiors of Edmonds: Andrea Savar’s one-of-a-kind jewelry using vintage French found objects combined with stones and metals.

J Rankin Jewelers: World-renowned Barcelonian artist P’Ablo D’Antoni known for his miniatures – mighty but small!

KinderBritches: Jessica Hanaumi’s custom portraiture of the most precious of bellies and babies.

Manya Vee Selects: Hip, modern and affordable laser-cut leather bracelets, necklaces and earrings by Andrea Bijou.

Olives Cafe & Wine Bar: Original artwork by the chef’s artistic parents.

Ombu Salon: Vibrant and colorful flowers, still life and a few cows in mixed media paintings by Lise Baadh.

Reliable Floor Coverings: An exploration of reflections and water abstracts in photos by Tom Vaughn.

Rick Steves’ Europe: Fine art photographs of France, Greece and Italy by Jim Nilsen.
