Tall ships, fun run, live music: Waterfront Festival coming to town

The Lady Washington will be at the Edmonds Marina this weekend.

The Edmonds Waterfront Festival, an annual tradition and a fundraiser for the Edmonds Rotary Club, runs this Friday-Sunday at the Edmonds Marina.

The 23rd annual festival features events for all ages, including children’s activities, a family entertainment stage, a beer stage with live rock and country music, a display of classic wooden boats, and tours of two tall ships, the Hawaiian Chieftain and the Lady Washington. The festival runs from 3-10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday.

The Edmonds Laebugten Salmon Chapter will conduct tours of the Willow Creek Fish Hatchery from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.  Saturday and Sunday, and kids 12 and under can fish for free.  On Saturday morning, runners and walkers can participate in a 5K waterfront route courtesy of Running in Motion.

Parking is available in the Arnie’s parking lot for $10, or you can take a free shuttle bus from the Edmonds Methodist Church parking lot. Admission is just $3 per person, with all proceeds benefiting the Rotary Club’s good works. For details and a schedule of events, visit the festival website.
