The U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday will present a Public Service Award to Washington State Department of Transportation ferry crew members for their role in rescuing two divers in distress at the Edmonds dive park March 27, and performing CPR to resuscitate one of the divers.
The Public Service Award is one the highest honors give to civilians for furthering the U.S. Coast Guard’s safety mission of eliminating injuries and preserving life at sea. Public Service Award recipients are recognized for courage or initiative in advancing one or more Coast Guard missions.
The award presentation, with U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral Gary T. Blore and Assistant Secretary for Washington State Ferries David Moseley, will be at Pier 52 at 9:45 a.m., and will honor WSF Captain John Tullis, Able Seamen Seth Hamlin and Marjorie Ess
