Fire Chief Ed Widdis, right, joins Capt. Bruce Davis and Lt. David Nofziger as they present a plaque to Mark Waldal in honor of his 25 years of volunteer service to the citizens of Snohomish County Fire District 1 during a recent retirement ceremony held in his honor at the Lake Serene Fire Station. Waldal, an Edmonds-area native, served as a volunteer firefighter and assisted at many community events, fire station open houses and parades during his 25 years of service.
