Ferry riders to be surveyed starting Thursday

The Washington State Transportation Commission announced Tuesday it will be surveying ferry riders — including those on the Edmonds-Kingston route — in late July/early August about their recreational travel activities, tariff issues, reservation system, out-of-state surcharges, general customer satisfaction with Washington State Ferries, and possible future amenities.

“The information collected will influence and inform critical decisions to be made by state leaders and lawmakers, impacting ferry riders throughout the system,” according to the WSDOT announcement.

The survey will be administered through on-board surveys and through the Ferry Riders Opinion Group (F.R.O.G.) online panel, which consists of ferry riders throughout the system. F.R.O.G. survey crews will be on board select routes Thursday, July 29 through Sunday, Aug. 1 and Thursday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 8.  Riders can also join the F.R.O.G. and take the survey by going directly to the survey website at: https://www.ferryridersopiniongroup.com/public

Participation in the research is voluntary. Individual survey responses will be kept confidential and will only be used for statistical purposes. For more information on the WSTC Ferry Customer Survey, go to: https://www.wstc.wa.gov/FerryCustomerSurvey/default.htm
