My Edmonds News, our community’s only locally-owned online news site, is proud to announce that it has been named the first media sponsor for the Edmonds International Film Festival, scheduled for Oct. 20-24 in downtown Edmonds.
The film festival organizers, father-son team Fred and Trevor Greenfield, for the past week have been on a whirlwind campaign throughout the city, lining up sponsors and making myriad arrangements for the event, which is just three short months away. (Fortunately for the Greenfields, they have the festival preparations down to a science, having run the Lakedance International Film Festival in Sandpoint, Idaho for the past four years.
The five-day festival launches with a kick-off partyWednesday night, Oct. 20, and concludes with an awards brunch Sunday, Oct. 24. A summary of the schedule is here.
Festival organizers plan to announce a presenting sponsor next Wednesday, at which time they will also unveil the festival’s logo. Sponsorship opportunities start at just $190, and Edmonds businesses are warmly invited to participate.

A fitting appointment, and, I trust, a harbinger of our community’s active stance towards this opportunity.
Congratulations, My Edmonds News! You have created a true on line community center.
Well done Teresa
