The Port Report: Commission sets budget workshop meeting

Port of Edmonds commissioners took the following actions at their regularly scheduled meeting Monday, July 12:

  • Approved purchase of a new pickup truck for the Port maintenance department to replace an existing 14-year-old vehicle that has a worn-out engine.
  • Reviewed the meeting schedule for the 2011 budgeting process. The first Commission workshop meeting is set for Aug. 9 (see below). Three public hearings on the budget are anticipated, although only one is required by law. Proposed hearing dates are Oct. 11 and 26, and Nov. 8.
  • Announced receipt of a Washington State Parks and Recreation clean vessel grant for two new sewage pump-out stations. The grant will cover 75 percent of costs.

The next regularly scheduled Port Commission meeting will be at 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 9, in the Port Commission meeting room. Scheduled agenda items include quarterly financial reports and a workshop on financial reporting. The public is invited. (The July 26 meeting will be for the purpose of approving accounts payable only.)
