This just in from our neighbors at Lynnwood Today. The Red Cross is accepting clothing donations for the more than 30 families that are now homeless as a result of Monday’s fire at the Lynnview Apartments. The families are staying at a temporary shelter at Trinity Lutheran Church at 6215 196th Street SW.
Earlier the Red Cross asked that donations of household items be held until the families are in new apartments, but now they’re accepting clothing donations at The Family Center of Lynnwood at 6330 195th St. S.W., Lynnwood Today reports.
They’re also in need of cash donations.
“We purchase food, water, prescription replacements, etc., so money better serves the multitude,” Red Cross spokesperson Connie Lewis told us. “Plus we also had two fires over the weekend, in Arlington and in Everett with several families and one fatality involved, so donations are always needed.”
Monetary donations can be made online.
