Creature creations and sculptures in the Edmonds sand

The tide was out and the sun chose to make a just-in-time appearance Tuesday as youngsters and parents gathered at Edmonds Marina Beach for the annual sand sculpting contest sponsored by the City of Edmonds Parks and Recreation Department.

Here are the winners:
Kids 14+/ Mixed Ages: Sand Sculpture

Kids 13 and Under: Sandcastle
Sadia Eijaz   Age: 12 City: Edmonds
Sumra Khan Age: 9 City: Shoreline
Muhammad Mazz Age: 9 City: Edmonds
M. Waleed Khan  Age: 11 City: Edmonds

The Childrens Center, Eagles Class
Ages: 7-12
City: Edmonds

Family/Group: Sandcastle “sandcastle pop up book”
The Burton family: Heather, Ryann and Kyle, from Redmond

The Vargo Family: Ute and Ian from Lynnwood

The Children's Center, Eagles Class, from Edmonds won the Kids 13 and Under Sand Sculpture.
