Here’s a reminder from Sound Transit: On Tuesday, Aug. 17, the commuter parking lot south of the Amtrak Depot at the Edmonds Sounder Train Station will be closed for construction until further notice. When the south lot closes, commuter parking will be available in the temporary parking lot north of the Amtrak Depot and south of the station on Admiral Way.
Commuters should allow extra time to walk to the platform from the temporary parking lots, Sound Transit says, and always use caution and look both ways when crossing railroad tracks.
The current temporary station location at Edmonds will be the permanent station site. In the first phase of construction, a new east platform will be built with a larger passenger loading area and new shelters. The project includes improvements to the parking area, lighting upgrades, secure bike storage and public art. A new bus area will be built at the north end of the station.
