Public memorial service for Ashley Aven Aug. 25 in Edmonds

A public memorial service for Ashley Aven is set for Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. at the Westgate Chapel in Edmonds, according to My Edmonds News online partner The Seattle Times.

Ashley lost her courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia early Sunday morning. She was 18.

Connie Perry, one of Ashley’s grandmothers, said she was surrounded by family at her Lynnwood home when she died at 2:25 a.m. Sunday.

The Westgate Chapel is located at 22901 Edmonds Way and seats 1,163, according to a spokesperson there.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Beck’s Funeral Home (405 5th Ave. S., Edmonds, 98020), where flowers for Ashley and her family will be accepted. And donations are still needed for the Ashley K. Foundation and can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank branch.
