A group of distinguished — and very full — judges ate their way through dozens of delicious dishes to determine “The Best of ” the Taste of Edmonds Friday afternoon. Judges included Edmonds City Councilmember Adrienne Fraley-Monillas, KIRO Radio’s Heather Bosch and Community Transit’s OxyGene, the self-proclaimed “Clean Air Avenger,” who delighted the crowd with a continuous stream of silly jokes between bites. Another judge, a Jack Sparrow-lookalike from “Pirates of the Carribean” movie fame, even resorted to using his sword as a utensil. “This is really fun,” said Fraley-Monillas, who noted she didn’t eat either dinner or breakfast in preparation for the feast.
The winning entries: Main dish: Fair Food and Bakery Pizza Side dish: Crab and Shrimp Chowder from Pat’s Philly Steak Sandwiches Dessert: Fruit Smoothie from Maui Wowi Hawaiian All winning entries received a “Best of the Taste” banner that will remain for the weekend.
Great Picture. Adrienne said she had a wonderful time and had help from Oxygen Man and her son Dominick! Can hardly wait to taste the food!
BTW, the Fair Food and Bakery is associated with “DaVinci’s Pizza e Pasta” in Seattle. You can order their prize winning pizza “Garlic chicken with Alfredo sauce” when you visit them at 76th and Aurora ave. It is one of the most delcious pizzas you will ever try.
