‘Collecting and Storing Garden Seeds’ topic of Edmonds workshop Sept. 25

The first workshop of the 2010-2011 Edmonds Floretum Garden Club series, “Getting Started Collecting and Storing Your Own Garden Seeds,” will be Saturday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m.-noon in the Community Meeting Room at Coldwell Banker Bain, 108 5th Ave. S.  The public is welcome.

The speaker is Jeanie Taylor, who teaches classes for the Native Plant Society, the University of Washington Botanic Garden and Edmonds Community College. Taylor has an M.S. in conservation biology from the UW and was plant propagator for the Seattle Parks Department for six years.

Participants are encouraged to bring identified seed pods to harvest. There will be a hands-on demonstration for all who attend.
