Madrona School in Edmonds turns 20 this year and the school would like to welcome back all former students, teachers and parents to celebrate this big milestone. On the evening of Oct. 1, Madrona will have a family-oriented birthday party. The celebration will bring back some old Madrona traditions, including a visit from Joe Rice, the first principal at Madrona, plus the Toucans Steel Drum band and a family barbecue.
The school will share the contents of a 10-year old time capsule that has been buried in the Peace Garden. Dinner will be served from 4:30-6:30 p.m., followed by a formal presentation by Joe Rice and select alumni. The evening will close with music by an alumni band and birthday cake.
To RSVP or receive more information, email Madrona.turns.20@gmail.com. Cost of the barbecue is $10 per person, first-come, first-served. Commemorative Bear Wear will be available at the party, and at www.cafepress.com/Madrona20.
