Holy Rosary Edmonds to host Tom Petosa Golf Classic Sept. 24

Holy Rosary Edmonds is now taking registrations for the third-annual Tom Petosa Classic – one of south Snohomish County’s largest golf fundraisers of the year – scheduled for Friday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. at Harbour Pointe Golf Club in Mukilteo (11817 Harbour Pointe Boulevard). Day-of registration and check in begin at noon.

Proceeds from the annual golf tournament benefit Holy Rosary Edmonds, an accredited pre-K through eighth-grade Catholic School located in downtown Edmonds.

Participation in the best-ball, scramble format golf tournament is $150 per guest, and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, a gift bag, an embroidered golf towel, lunch, dinner, a raffle drawing and the chance to win numerous high-quality prizes.

Numerous individual or corporate sponsorship packages are also available and range in cost from $400, to $550 (for a hole sponsorship and single golfer), to $1,000 (for a hole sponsorship and four golfers). One of two top sponsorship packages at the $2,000 level has already been secured thanks to a very generous donation from Abbott Construction.

Online registration, donation and/or sponsorship submission is available via a secure Web site at www.hrsedmonds.org or www.golf-events.com/hrs.

The golf classic was established in memory of a generous parishioner and long-time Edmonds businessman Tom Petosa, who died from complications of heart disease in May 2005. He was the founder of Petosa’s Family Grocer, which opened in 1986 and remains one of this area’s most popular, independently owned and operated grocery stores. Since golf was near and dear to Tom Petosa’s heart – especially when he was enjoying the sport with family and friends at his favorite local course, Harbour Pointe – his family has been honored to help Holy Rosary School make this a fun and successful fund-raising event in his honor.
