Submit your questions for Edmonds CC candidates’ forum Wednesday

Have a question for candidates running for 1st or 21st Legislative District State Representative positions? Email it to teresa@myedmondsnews.com. It may be one of the questions asked by panelists during this Wednesday’s Civic Engagement Forum at the Black Box Theater at Edmonds Community College this Wednesday. The  forum includes 21st District candidates Marko Liias, the Democratic incumbent, and his challenger, Republican Elizabeth Scott, and 1st District candidates Dennis Richter (R) and Derek Stanford (D) , who are running for a vacant seat.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the forum starts at 7 p. m. in the theater, located at 20310 68th Ave. W. in Lynnwood.  The event will be moderated by D.J. Wilson, Edmonds City Councilmember, and is also co-sponsored by Edmonds Community College.

Seating is limited to 200, so arrive early to ensure a seat.  Audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions. In addition, representatives from all three sponsoring online news organizations — My Edmonds News, MLTnews and Lynnwood Today– will sit on a panel that will be asking questions of the candidates.

This is the first in a series of  Civic Engagement Forums that will be held in upcoming weeks. On Oct. 7,  Bill Gates Sr. and Marilyn Watkins lead a panel of proponents and opponents of I-1098, the high earners income tax initiative on the ballot this November. That forum also starts at 7 p.m. in the Black Box Theater.
