An estimated 2,000 people gathered at Centennial Plaza Saturday night for Edmonds’ annual tree lighting ceremony, sponsored by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce. Just before the tree was lit, Edmonds Mayor Mike Cooper welcomed the crowd and Santa Claus arrived on a fire truck.

The event featured caroling, holiday dancers and free hot cider, cookies and snacks courtesy of the Edmonds Bakery and PCC Natural Markets. In addition, the Edmonds Museum gave away popcorn and Snohomish County Fire District 1 passed out red firefighters’ hats.
