E-W students advance to semifinals of national math competition

Two Edmonds-Woodway High School students are in the semifinals of the national Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology. Estella Jung and Michelle Cheng are two of the 312 students, from an original 2,033, who are being evaluated.

Regional finalists will be invited to the finals at George Washington University, in Washington D.C., on Dec. 3-6. College scholarships of $1,000 to $100,000 will be awarded to the winners.
