Edmonds-area fire calls, Nov. 11-17

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 347 calls the week of Nov. 11-17: 279 emergency medical aid calls, 24 fires, 26 motor vehicle collisions, eight service calls, eight automatic fire alarms, one natural gas leak and one carbon monoxide alarm. The following are the calls in or near Edmonds:

Nov. 11
MOTORCYCLE COLLISION. At 8:38 a.m., a motorcycle and a car collided at 220th Street Southwest and 66th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported the motorcyclist to Harborview Medical Center and the driver of the car to Swedish/Edmonds.

COLLISION. At 2:58 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a two-car collision in the 22000 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds.

Nov. 12
CAR FIRE. At 2:01 a.m., firefighters extinguished a car fire at 236th Street Southwest and 44th Place West in Mountlake Terrace.

COLLISION. At 3:06 p.m., firefighters took one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a three-car collision at Alder Way and Ash Way east of Lynnwood.

COLLISION. At 3:22 p.m., firefighters took one patient to Harborview Medical Center after responding to a car that crashed into a pole at 141st Place Southwest and Manor Way north of Lynnwood.

Nov. 13
COLLISION.  At 12:09 p.m., firefighters took two patients to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a two-car collision in the 2500 block of 164th Street Southwest north of Lynnwood.

HOUSE FIRE. At 12:21 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at a home in the 2400 block of 199th Place Southwest east of Lynnwood. A woman and her son safely exited the home. The fire caused $60,000 damage. A Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office investigation determined the fire was started by a child playing with a lighter.

Nov. 14
COLLISION.  At 8:14 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a two-car collision at 164th Street Southwest and 36th Avenue West north of Lynnwood.

GARAGE FIRE.  At 8:31 a.m., firefighters responded to a garage fire in 22700 block of 82nd Avenue West in Edmonds. The fire caused more than $50,000 damage to the 1200-square-foot garage. No one was injured.

HOUSE FIRE. At 10:14 a.m., firefighters responded to a house fire in the 22500 block of 56th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace. The house was for sale and vacant. No one was injured. Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set. Mountlake Terrace Police have arrested a man suspected of setting the fire, which caused an estimated $12,000 in damage.

Nov. 15
COLLISION. At 7:27 a.m., firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a three-car collision on the ramp from southbound SR 525 to southbound I-5.

Nov. 16
BIKE-CAR COLLISION. At 2:38 p.m., a 12-year-old boy on a bicycle collided with a police car at 210th Street Southwest and 76th Avenue West in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the boy to Swedish/Edmonds.

Nov. 17
COLLISION. At 4:55 p.m., a car went down an embankment and crashed into two trees at 211th Place Southwest and Cypress Way east of Brier. The driver died at the scene. The passenger was transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center.
