Project Fisher House: Help us honor families of veterans on Christmas Day

My Edmonds News is proud to announce a very special holiday project, and we invite you to participate: We are providing Christmas gifts and a community meal for Puget Sound Fisher House, a home away from home for families of wounded military personnel undergoing treatment at the VA Hospital on Seattle’s Beacon Hill.

PCC Natural Markets has generously volunteered to provide the holiday meals, which will come from PCC’s Edmonds store on Christmas Eve. My Edmonds News will transport the meals to Fisher House on Christmas Day, heat them up and serve them to veterans’ families. But Fisher House has other needs, and we invite My Edmonds News readers to help by donating the following:

-Gift cards for holiday stocking stuffers

-Grocery store gift cards

-Long distance calling cards

-Ground coffee

-Paper towels and bath tissue

-Liquid detergent (prefer Tide) for HE washers

-Zout stain remover

-Liquid fabric softener and bleach

-Scrapbooking supplies (paper, stickers, labels)

-Travel size toiletries: especially shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, disposable razors

If you can help, please email teresa@myedmondsnews.com to arrange mailing and/or pickup of items.
