Courtesy of Wayne Purser, 365 Things to Do in Edmonds, here’s a great way to work off your Thanksgiving feast: Participate in this Saturday’s Turkey Trot, a walk around Edmonds sponsored by Sound Steppers Volkssport Club. Start point is the Edmonds Heights K-12 School (otherwise known as Old Woodway High School), 23200 100th Ave. W. For walk-ons coming from Kingston, the alternate start point is just south of the Edmonds Ferry dock (turn right as you exit the Edmonds Ferry terminal).
There are three walk distances:
5K
This walk goes through the Town of Woodway, on sidewalks and quiet streets. You will see large homes, wooded acreage and horse corrals.
10K
This walk is on sidewalks to the Edmonds downtown and waterfront, with a return through the Town of Woodway.
20K
This walk is a tour of Edmonds parks, golf course trail and the Edmonds waterfront, with a return through the Town of Woodway.
You can start at any time between 8 a.m. and noon, but please start by 9 a.m. if you are walking the 20K. End time is 3 p.m.
This is a really great event.
