Mudslides cancel Edmonds-Seattle Sounder train service for Monday

If you take the Sounder train from Edmonds to Seattle to get to work, you better find another route Monday. Sound Transit has announced that Northline Sounder service between Everett and Seattle has been canceled due to mudslides.

As a backup, Community Transit Route 416 will depart Edmonds’ Station at 5:37 a.m., 6:15 a.m., 6:35 a.m., 6:55 a.m., 7:20 a.m. and 7:47 a.m.  Note that hese time do not correspond with the regular Sounder schedule. Alternative northbound bus information will be updated and posted prior to Monday’s  afternoon commute, Sound Transit said.

  1. What’s funny is the trains actually ran this morning & on time, too! I asked at the station as I was riding by & the attendant said the trains were overnight in Everett & had to get to Seattle & could only use the tracks at the scheduled time due to their arrangement with BNSF.
