My Edmonds News had an opportunity to interview two players from the Melbourne Tigers, a club team of girls basketball players from Australia who are visiting Edmonds for a few days. Vanessa Vernezovic and Gemma Wright arrived Sunday afternoon along with their teammates and coaches, and will play the Edmonds-Woodway High School Lady Warriors basketball team in an exhibition match Monday at 7 p.m. in the E-W gym.

The Tigers have been in the U.S. for two weeks, taking advantage of the Australian summer break from late November-February, and have played eight teams so far. They will return home to Melbourne in time for Christmas.
