Edmonds church takes team spirit to a new level with Seahawks-themed service

The North Sound Jazz Band watches Seattle Seahawks game highlights as churchgoers wait for the football-themed service to start.

The Edmonds Conference Center was filled with football jerseys, green-and-blue balloons and good cheer Sunday morning as North Sound Church members and guests gathered for a Seattle Seahawks tailgate service prior to the Hawks’ divisional playoff game against the Chicago Bears.

Attendees were treated to a buffet breakfast and game highlights on the big screen, followed by a moving rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” by Marcus Shelton, the internationally acclaimed operatic tenor, to kick off the 8:30 a.m. service.
