Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary Club holding auction March 5

“Fun in the Sun: A Party with a Purpose” is the theme of the Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary Club’s sixth annual auction starting at 5:30 p.m. March 5 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, featuring games and entertainment along with wine tasting, dinner, and silent and live auction items. Keeping with the festive atmosphere, attendees are encouraged to wear Hawaiian-themed apparel.

This event is an opportunity for the Edmonds business community to invest in the Rotary mission of “Service Above Self,” and there are several ways you can support the club and the work that Rotary does locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, and provide education and job training.

The proceeds from previous auctions have provided scholarships for graduating local high school students; provided Christmas toys to nearly 1,000 children in South Snohomish County plus Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to their families; help fund fresh water sources for poorer communities in Africa, Central America and India; provide vocational education for homeless young women in Mali; and many more important programs.

Ticket prices are $75 per person and $750 for a table of 10. The club is also seeking donations of auction items for the live or silent auction (Live auction items are valued at $300 or more). If your company can not offer something directly, you can sponsor an item or event, such as dinner for eight at a local restaurant or a getaway to a bed-and-breakfast. All donations are tax-deductible.

Daybreakers Rotary Club is also seeking sponsors for the evening at gold, silver and bronze levels.
