Kindergarten registration packets now at Edmonds elementary schools

Any child in the Edmonds School District who will be 5 years old by Aug. 31, 2011 is eligible for kindergarten for the 2011-12 school year.  Enrolling now is important, and helps determines whether a school can offer an every-day kindergarten option based on the number of tuition-paid slots filled.

Registration packets are now available at all neighborhood elementary schools.

School hours can be found here and you can locate your neighborhood school here.

Registration opens on Monday, Feb. 7. Packets must be returned to the school the child will attend. The start time for returning packets that day varies at each school, and a list of those times will be posted to the Edmonds Schooll District website by the week of Jan. 31.

To make the process equitable to all, the district will collect parent-paid contracts from those interested between Feb. 7 and March 4 and enter them into a lottery. March 4 is also when the district will look at whether enough slots have been filled in order to have every-day kindergarten at each school.
