The City of Edmonds discovered a 10-foot-deep sinkhole at the intersection of Dayton Street and Railroad Avenue early Friday morning.
Edmonds police discovered the hole and notified the public works department. The area is blocked off with cones while Interwest Construction, the contractor who had done some stormwater infrastructure work at that intersection, pumps water out of the sinkhole to investigate the possible cause.
“Any costs associated with the repair will be absorbed by the contractor,” said City of Edmonds Public Works Director Phil Williams.
