Did you ever visit the doctor’s office where Semantics Gallery is now located? Did you tap dance at the Edmonds Center for the Arts when you were a child? Do you know people who stayed at the old motel or lived there when it became apartments?
The Cultural Heritage Tour project, recently funded with a federal matching grant from Preserve America, will create artist-made interpretive signage/markers with historical information about sites along 4th Avenue as well as a website page and a walking tour map with additional information. According to the Edmonds Arts Commission, the project includes collecting stories and photographs from the past about people, businesses and events associated with the section of 4th Avenue from the old high school south to Dayton Street.
If you have stories or photographs or know someone who does, please contact the Arts Office, 425-771-0228 or chapin@ci.edmonds.wa.us
