E-W’s Duane Hodges to coach state all-star girls basketball game Saturday

Edmonds-Woodway High School girls basketball coach Duane Hodges will be in Portland this weekend to coach some of Washington state’s best girls basketball players during the annual Washington-vs.-Oregon Northwest Shootout.

Held at the Chiles Center on the University of Portland campus,  the Northwest Shootout features high school seniors from Oregon facing off seniors from Washington in boys and girls postseason all-star basketball games. (The boys team is coached by Nalim Sood, head boys basketball coach at Mountlake Terrace High School.)

The girls game starts at 4 p.m. Saturday, followed by the boys game at 6 p.m. Here is the roster for the girls team as selected by all high school coaches in Washington state, including colleges the players have committed to:

Head Coach: Duane Hodges, Edmonds-Woodway HS. Assistant Coach:  Randall Edens of Lake Stevens.
CG:  Aminah Williams Kennedy Catholic HS (Washington); Erika Johnson, Holy Names HS (California); Tia Presley, Gonzaga Prep HS  (WSU); Shaniqua Nilles, West Valley HS (Gonzaga); Kari Luttinen, Seattle Prep (Univ. Of Portland).
P:  Talia Walton Federal Way HS (Washington); Shelby Cheslek, Pullman HS (Gonzaga); Kat Cooper, Auburn-Riverside HS (Boston College); Jordon Loera, Moses Lake HS (Oregon); Sarah Hartwell, Bellarmine Prep HS (Xavier)

The Washington girls team has defeated Oregon’s team for four years in a row.
