Community Service: Volunteered three summers at the City of Edmonds day camp (over 700+ hours during the summer). Tutoring, in school and out. (Seattle Music Partners, see below)

Culminating Project: I teach music to underprivileged students in the Central District of Seattle. High school orchestras in that area require auditions to be able to play, thus, in coordination with the Seattle Music Partners’ help, I make my way over to Seattle to help tutor violin to kids throughout the entire year.

Current Employment: While I don’t work during the school year, for the past two years I have worked during the summer at a day camp in Edmonds. As a leader, I come in every day and plan activities, games, and field trips for the kids for six hours a day.

Future Educational Goals: I plan on going to a four-year college to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. I am interested most in engineering, yet it’s a toss up between law school, medical school or engineering when it comes to my graduate education.

Future Career Goals: Ultimately, I don’t see myself working the same job for over 20 years; I want to own my own business one day. I’m not quite sure what that really entails, but being an entrepreneur sounds, well, fun!

Anything else we should know?: I really try and strive for a balance in life. I’ve always told myself that I’m extremely left-brained, yet I know now that right-brain skills will take me just as far in life. On a similar note, I’ve taken all the AP classes that are offered at my school, yet I don’t let schoolwork dominate my life. I like to have fun and relax outside of school as much as possible.

Clubs & Activities: I am involved in Black Student Union at my school and have been throughout high school. It’s a good place to come together as a different ethnic background and learn different issues we are faced with throughout our day-to-day life. We can just all come together and be apart of a family in high school. Link Crew was a good way for me to branch out and meet people I didn’t necessarily surround myself with and I got the opportunity to help my younger peers to learn their way around a new environment and make it their home as well.

Community Service: Teen Council is a peer education group I am involved with. I can go around to different health classes around Snohomish County and teach teens about sexual education.

Culminating Project: I am doing my senior projecy on Teen Council, the education group I am involved with.

Current Employment: I currently am employed with Sundquist Homes LLC working as a hostess/greeter.

Future Educational Goals: I want to be the first in my family to go to college.

Future Career Goals: My career goal is to become a social worker, that is a job that I feel is very rewarding.
