Edmonds man, 20, in custody following assault and robbery in Lynnwood

A 20-year-old Edmonds man is in custody after a Lynnwood man was assaulted with a weapon, burglarized and robbed at his Lynnwood apartment.

The victim, a 56-year-old man with a disability, was in his apartment in the 6500 block of 208th Street Southwest in Lynnwood about 3:30 a.m. on March 10, when at least three suspects broke into his apartment, assaulted him with a weapon and stole some electronic equipment.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center and is currently in stable condition, said Lynnwood police spokesperson Shannon Sessions.

While the incident is still actively being investigated, Lynnwood Police Detectives have three suspects in custody for Assault 1, Robbery 1 and Burglary 1. In addition to the Edmonds man, the other suspects are from Lynnwood: an 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl.

The incident wasn’t a random act of violence, but rather it appears that the victim had been targeted, Sessions said.
